F.B. Purity site question
Have any of you used this site to block specific words from FaceBook.

An aquaintence asked: “Is there a way to auto block posts that contain a certain word from showing on your Feed?” and others suggested fbpurity, but before I download it I wanted to check with you peeps first.

Words to block list:
pray
prayer
praying
blessed
Hobo

If you follow any atheist sites on FB they occasionally have those words on them and they could be blocked I guess.

I've been using it for years. Can't imagine ever going on fb without it, frankly, and not just because of the blocked words. I makes fb a much much better experience Yes

If you must use Facebook, it's much better to block the pseudo-pious user than block things based on certain words. Censor "prayer," for example, you might miss an important notice about your local school encouraging it.

Personally, I like Facebook for one very important feature: if you wonder whether or not someone you know is an asshole, their Facebook postings will quickly confirm if they are.

I just weeded a couple out today as a matter of fact.

RE: F.B. Purity site question
I've never used Facebook. Am I a rarity in this invasive, publicly socialised, artificial cyberworld? Why would I—realistically or of necessity—need to use Facebook?

I'm a creationist... I believe that man created God.

I get that but I belong to a handful of groups that share my interests, no BS allowed. I would have never found these wandering souls without FB.

Did you try it from their website?

If you're using Chrome, you may look for it in their web store?

And yeah, I've long been saying that if you don't lose most (if not all) respect for someone on facebook, you should really cling to that person. Rolleyes

Other than this, facebook is what you make of it. If you surround yourself with vapid, self-obsessed people, this is what you'll get. I find it handy for keeping in touch with my friends all over the world.
