Up to you Anjele. But don't just keep letting it slide - it's your life he's fucking up too. IMO he's a bit of a shit - who the fuck gambles to the extent of a house ? Esp. without even telling you...

Yup. Just finished repainting it. It's a nice 10'x12' room with its own private bath, leather wrap-around sofa, and a bigass walk-in closet. ... oops just checked and one of the neighborhood kids apparently is trying to establish squatter's rights to the closet 'cause he's sleeping in it now. He's a nice enough kid, though. Thumbsup

Don't get gambling. Drinking? Yup, I can relate. Drugs? Yup, I can see it. Gambling? Nope, just don't get it.

I don't get it either. What's so addicting about having the odds stacked against you, having a good streak and then having an epic fail when it finally runs out? A lot of people say its a rush, though.

Anjele:

Divorce is most likely the right option for both of you. You have dealt with it long enough, and after that long of a time, you just realize that he doesn't want to change (because he himself is the only one who has the power to do it).

Jesus loves you, but the Devil gives you cool shit.

They need a lesson in getting stoned, that's all I can figure.

I wouldn't have said that. I won't say that. Feels like some sorta "nuclear" option to Girly. ... To each their own, but divorce invariably ends up in some seriously fucked up shit if there are kids involved. ... No kids, it's just a contractual agreement to dissolve a partnership. No biggie. ... But me and Manly got these kids and shit. ... And we're still in love. ... After some 30+ years, that's some seriously fucked up shit. Big Grin

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.

While I agree with Aseptic to an extent (if it's something worth saving by all means go for it.)

But by the sounds of it you've been putting up with a lot of crap for a very long time from someone who's supposed to love you and support you and have your back......

Divorce was the best thing that ever happened to me, Just saying.

Anjele, I forgot where you live, but gambling addictions are extremely curable and most places have free treatment.
Unlike other addictions, which usually involve physical addiction, gambling addiction is purely mental and easy to fix.
Send him for treatment, find a place close to you. It's free. It works. It's not like other addictions at all.

Also, find out where all he has been playing, whether online or on land, the casinos have to close his accounts and put him on a no service list if he asks.

Yeah. What he said.

OR. I can show up at your house dressed as a debt collector or something and scare him halfway to hell. I like doing that.

It probably isn't right for me.

My little girl would miss her Daddy too much! I'd put up with anything to see her smile...

Aw man, sorry to hear, Anjele. Undecided

This is a 21 year marriage. Often in cases like these I've seen families separate, but not divorce. It gave time for both parties to clean their sides of the fence, from the emotional, psychological and physical to then decide what happened from there.

It's your choice what path you chose, and none are easy. Take up Girly's offer. The couch is better than a box.

It is a nice couch, but the room's plenty big enough to accommodate a proper bed as well. Big Grin

Girly can't relate, but I believe you. Girly can't relate to all sorta different shit.
