FREE GAMES FTW
So I`m broke, and this revelation has spurned me on to find free games, and I don`t mean illegal downloads ( Only because that`s too flipping hard nowadays what with keygens and shit ) I`m talking legit free.

I have played a ton of them so far and have been overall disappointed, but just recently I came across two games that are phenomenal and on some levels beat out the big guys.

The first is the one I like the most, and I will urge you (if you`re a windows user) to go and download right the fuck now, and play it. It`s short (very) and brilliant. I can`t actually tell you much about it without ruining it, due to it being so short. I would even recommend that after downloading it you don`t read the packaged instructions. Just load it up and play. Also don`t load it up on youtube and watch it because that will ruin it for you.

It`s called Gravity Bone, and it is offered free from Blendo Games. You can get it from their website HERE. Just scroll down and click Gravity Bone and it will begin to download. It is not a virus I swear to fucking christ.

The second is Battlefield Heroes. Some of you may have heard of it. It's offered up by EA Games, a company I am not personally fond of. It is like a cross between Team Fortress and something else cool. You can take on different character classes, and use vehicles, and just cause general mayhem. Pretty sweet actually, and it's free. The graphics are pretty good and it plays in a browser window. You only have to download the plug-in and the initial game loadout.

Other than those two I have yet to find anything decent. But I will use this thread as a tool for depositing useful information about more free games as I come across them. Feel free to do likewise.

RE: FREE GAMES FTW
Battlefield Heros is a fun game I played for a little while. I'll have to check out that other one- Gravity Bone. I've seen someone do a Let's Play of it and it looked fun.

There are TONS of free games out there that are worth playing too, but a lot of them do suck. Steam has a bunch that are free to play- like War Inc., CrimeCraft, etc. But those games are kind of "meh".

Also, a great and challenging game is Spelunky. It's a free platformer and side-scroller type of game. Lots of fun and dynamic- and it's a small game file to boot. That'll give you lots of fun. Also, if anyone out there likes side-scrollers, be sure to try Terraria from Steam, it's a cheap game, like $5 or $10.

Thanks for Spelunky, it's pretty good. Though I died in the tutorial by blowing myself up with bombs. And I hit myself in the head with a rock. It's good old school style gaming.

Yeah, it's a nice throw-back. For the full effect, if you have a controller, it's nice to plug that in and place with a controller/gaming pad. Makes me think back to my old NES days. Big Grin

That is a fun game, but I got burnt out on it pretty quick... not being able to figure out how to play more maps.

I have a short attention span, so I might be ok with it. Smile

RE: FREE GAMES FTW
I tried to get League Of Legends back when I first purchased my pimp laptop and it never would work for me. Every time I tried downloading it the Downloader would fail. It would freeze up around 80 % completion every time. No other game has done that for me except age of conan.

As for MMO games, I'm looking forward to the uber geeky Star Trek Online, when it goes free in January. I've never been a super big fan of star trek (which is hard to believe when you realize I've seen nearly every episode of every series minus voyager which sucked with a capital dumb, worse even than the new series which only had one redeeming factor... female vulcan hot) But I've oddly longed for a game that would put me in the suit, preferably not a red one... And TNG being my favorite overall series, followed by deep space nine, all the same timeline, I had hoped the game would take place in that universe... but I don't think it does. Still I get to wear a costume in the game and that's something.

RE: FREE GAMES FTW
Oh, if you're into MMORPG stuff, the free market for those is humongous. I had no idea until I ran into some youtube channels with first-view reviews and the options seem endless. From good old bash 'em up to fierce PVP to tank battles to FPS and kung-fu and space robots and magic and fantasy and <insert whatever you like here>. The catch in many cases is that, as always, they have in-game stores with real-world money. However, I played my ass off, I was pretty happy with my equipment and never felt the need to get that extra edge. I'm sure you can easily find such channels yourselves, but if anybody has trouble with that, just ask.
