Facebook Posts Regarding athing athism
I posted this on facebook today:

I promised not to do this again, but I am. Sorry, but the god thing is bothering me again:

Here's what god has done for me:

. Gave me an alcoholic father, who was mean when he was drunk.
. Burned my favorite uncle, alone, in his trailer.
. Made me take care of my mentally ill brother for most of my life.
. Had my youngest brother murdered as a young man with no explanation.
. Took my mother and father from me.
. Had me grow up in poverty.
. Made me an alcoholic.
. Left me alone, at 50, with no children.

And you'll tell me that I am wrong!!! That's all my fault!! God's only responsible for the good stuff!

Who can relate?

That shit, to your credit, is all on you, brother, . No god necessary. Thumbsup

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.

No blaming pink fluffy Unicorns or God. Can't be angry at nothing for not existing.

You can take matters into your own hands to help yourself, positively. Hug

Exactly! God didn't kill anybody. Didn't make anybody mentally ill. Didn't make me take care of anyone or be an alcoholic! Because it (god) doesn't exist. Life happened. I am not responsible for the life that has happened to me. But I AM responsible for the decisions I have made. There's nobody to condemn, or love or hate, or pray to, who will make it better. I know I'm preaching to the quire, but maybe I need to hear from the quire!

I'm not angry at god! I'm angry at the stupid idea of god! I suspect that a lot of us have real problems that maybe we need help with. I have admitted that I am an alcoholic. Well! It seems that god is my solution! I need a higher power! I guess I'm just venting, here. But how many people have to die over this stupid idea! How many have to be left alone and confused?

But you just don't understand. God isn't responsible for those bad things, you and your family must have done something to offend Him. If you believed and prayed eery day, your life would be great now. Your family had to do it as well, while they were younger, then everything would have been different.

I understand your anger, it makes us all angry. And sad at the same time. Not much you can about it and writing that on the FB wall just attracts more stupidity near you...

RE: Facebook Posts Regarding athing athism
When I recently told my cousin I was going to send God a thank you card for making my beautiful son autistic, my cousin replied that my son's autism was actually a blessing. See, his autism will mark him as innocent and therefore not accountable for failing to believe in Jesus. Therefore, he will not be poisoned by my atheism and he will go to heaven.

I gently reminded him that his recently born granddaughter is the child of an atheist father, so I wished her a short, painful life so that she could go straight to heaven and not be poisoned by her father's atheism. This, of course, was absurd (as absurd as his claim about MY son).

People have some f###ing gall.

If God gives people autism to stop them from thinking rationally, then he is every bit the evil monster the Bible portrays him to be.

"athing athism"?

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
