What we should do if we want to approach the subject is something along the lines more of what Peter Bogosshian noted, "question
"them, and try to get them to see the falacy in their belief system. dont' attack their god, attack their belief in superstition. First start wth something like

"It's interesting you say that, why do you think the intricacies of the snowflake denote a god?"

and then go from there. They will probably say something that it is beautiful, or hard to explain. Then retort with "What if I gave you a scientific explanation for this that didn't include God, how would you feel" or perhaps, show them something YOU cannot explain but they can (such as a refracted light in a pirsm) and say that is god and see what they say. Go from there, but question them and have them begin to question theihr assumptions.

Waste of time on the willfully ignorant.

RE: Facebook Posts by Religious "Friends"
I find most religious posts annoying, but the "Have a blessed day" or "May God be with you" posts don't really bother me much. It's when people try to force their religious beliefs on people, or try to use something as a validation point for why their religion is right. The ones that anger me most are when people post some video or quote by some idiotic right wing extremist like Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, or Mike Huckabee using horrific events like tsunamis or the Sandy Hook shooting as an opportunity to validate pushing their religious beliefs on people, with their "God is doing this to punish non-Christians", or "This is what we get for kicking God out of our public school system!" That garbage just sickens me.

Maybe they are affected by FASD. Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. (My body, my choice!!! If I want to drink when pregnant so what!)

I noticed there werent any pictures of aborted fetuses. Perhaps, you dont mind unborn babies getting chopped to bits. Consider

Hey, interesting fact! Did you know that abortion clinics offer fetal anaesthetic?
Heres another interesting fact. A significant percentage of women DECLINE the option. (Why waste money on a baby that is about to die anyway?)

There is a lot of suffering of babies in this world.

Do atheist parents owe their children an explanation as to why they brought them into this world of pain and suffering?

Take your "problem of pain" hypocrisy and shove it!

A fetus cannot feel pain until the third trimester when an actual nervous system exists

False.
The fetal nervous system is detected to exist as early as 7 weeks. They have eyes, and tongues and cranial nerves.

The fetal heart rate has been shown to react to external stimuli from as early as 8 weeks. How on earth can the fetus feel anything if they have no nerves?

Yep. Fetal anesthesia. Thats what I said.
They also offer it to mothers having abortions.
Are you repeating me for echo effect?

So tempted to simply comment with:
"And people say there IS a god. Ha!: [Image: untitled.png?w=650]"

I know we have the option (one that I generally take) to not respond to these types of posts on facebook (I literally see at least 3 of them a day), but if you were to respond to something like this, what would YOU say? (jus cuz hypotheticals are fun)

I would say that God works in mysterious ways, and that it is impossible for our feeble, faulty and finite minds to know the mind of an infinite God. Thus, God is exonerated from any perceived wrongdoings.

I would counter that God is a liar, and is actually quite malicious. The fact that Satan is described as The Deceiver in the Bible is done just to give a scapegoat so that people will have someone else to blame. Then, God tells us he's smarter than us and that there's a reason he allows bad stuff to happen (but he won't tell us what it is). But, we know he's telling the truth and not lying because... the Bible says so. Go ahead. Prove to me that God isn't actually a malicious liar, and that Satan has nothing to do with it.

See? I can make non-falsifiable assertions, too.
