Faith no more - interview
Interesting interview with Peter Boghossian.

DR. PETER BOGHOSSIAN is a full-time faculty member in Portland State University's philosophy department who is well known around campus for directly challenging his student's faith-based beliefs. He's also had his fair share of criticism for such recent public lectures as "Jesus, the Easter Bunny, and Other Delusions: Just Say No!" and "Faith as a Cognitive Sickness," which drew hundreds of attendees.

Enjoy

Thanks for the post.
Love the "Faith based airplane" bit.
Faith is immoral...period

The old gods are dead, let's invent some new ones before something really bad happens.

I was actually going to come back in here and comment on the faith based airplane. It's a pretty powerful analogy for those of us who know that evident facts are more important that invisible wishful thinking. I just can't get why an otherwise intelligent theist would be willing to base their life on, at worst and out and out lie, and at best a distorted delusion. Makes me feel a little bit sad for people like KC.

Ends with a scrappy Q&A and the faith-based airplane comment

I keep thinking this thread to be about this:

Great post.

The 'green blobs' analogy was a good one.
