Favorite Historical Leader
Post who your favorite Leader in history was, and why.

Genghis Khan

The best rags-to-riches story ever told. From a slave caring for his Mom and sister to the leader of the empire that diminished the puny Macedonians and Romans. He also spread his seed so prolifically that there's a 1 in 200 chance your directly descended from him. He was also a champion in tolerance and administration, able to divide his Empire without Diadochi-esque wars and balkanization.

Yeah.

Countess Elizabeth Báthory de Ecsed

Killed over 600 people and bathed in the blood of Virgin Girls to gain immortality.

I don't really pay attention to famous historical leaders. I am more enchanted by the inventors and adventurer types.

My Youtube channel if anyone is interested.

RE: Favorite Historical Leader
Yeah, that's hard to pin down. I sort of admire Winston Churchill during his WW II leadership. He was a great leader during war time but not so good during peacetime. But I suppose the leader I most admire is Abraham Lincoln. I know that's not very original as it's on many peoples list, but he was such an interesting person on a variety of levels. If I could sit down with anyone in history to have dinner with it would be Lincoln.

Some leaders I don't admire but find interesting. Alexander the Great, what was he like when he was just hanging out? What made him tick? Queen Elizabeth I is someone I'd like to have met. I'd make sure it was a brief encounter since I like my head attached to my body.

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

There are many I admire - possibly no favorite. Well, maybe Jefferson.

Thomas Jefferson
Theodore Roosevelt
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk
King George VI and Queen Elizabeth
Pierre Elliott Trudeau
Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden

You're Canadian, correct? Why Pierre Elliott Trudeau? What's so fascinating about him.
