I need help deciphering this one.

I get the overall message as it echoes, with less eloquence, Douglas Adams:

What I don't get is the examples that are used.

Leaving aside the issue I have with "kids" which to me are baby goats, what are 90s' kids?
(presumably it's supposed to be possessive plural rather than just plural)

Are these children who were born in the 90s or they children whose formative years were the 90s?
And when are those years? Teens? 20s? Mine began when I discovered the internet (and are on-going)!

My children, for example, were born in the late 90s. Too late to know what a Sony Walkman was; too early (or late, I dunno. I'm not sure when they were around) to have Pokemon Cards but they did have Tamagotchis.

Are they 90s' children or Millennials or other? I dunno.

Tamagotchis were long after my time; I've never seen a Pokemon Card (let alone having any idea what they are for) but I certainly had a Sony Walkman ... the last time I had mobile music, incidentally.

So, am I a 90s' child because I had a Walkman? I doubt it, somehow.

Am I the only one confused by this?

Huh

RE: Favorite pictures for a laugh at everything else...
I was born in 91.
I remember walkmans (I owned one), pokemon cards, tamagotchis, dial up internet, not having internet (as in, we didn't have it in our house, get your head around that you young people), VCR, tapes, side a and b all that.

I think 90's kids refers to my generation. Born around 88-92 where our childhood was in the 90's.

DLJ, you're like a 60's kid.

^^ What Muffs said. My oldest daughter was born in "91 and refers to herself as a 90's kid.

Wait till they invent time travel - and you'll go back to the 90's wishing you in the future, so you could fondly remember the present in past tense......................

....

It gets confusing after that....

If I were to post half of these on Facebook, I'd probably get a number of people liking and vehemently agreeing without understanding why doing so makes them sound like idiots Sad
