Why is it called 'Battlefield' is there's more than one level?

How can it be the Final Fantasy if they've made 15 of them?

Why call it Grand Theft Auto, and not Vehicular Manslaughter?

How can Drake know where he is if it's Uncharted?

Why do you drive cars in Rocket League?

Since you're not alone, how come it isn't called Civilizations?

Why call it HALO is there's more than one galactic life ending space station?

I could keep going. Tongue

Because the levels take place on a battlefield.

But not all (if any??) are actually related to each others stories.

Because GTA is the legal term (or at least it was).

Because he's charting it.

The cars have rocket boost things.

Because it's referring to civilisation in general, not necessarily just yours.

Actually, there is. The Guardians (basically just a copy of Mass Effects reapers) Though it was called Halo because the original game was about Chef stopping the activation of a Halo (there are more than one). The fact that the rest are called halo is just because it's a continuation of that story with the common theme of preventing the halo rings from going off. Even in Halo 5, despite there being no halo's at the very end Cortana is seen activating a halo.

And it's called Battleship because you have one. Sleepy

Also, your original assertion was a typo.

@EvolutionKills and earmuffs

I think I have strated one of the most pointless debate and conversation on this website. Should I be proud or dig myself a hole to hide in shame?

Read some of theBorg, KerimF, and PopsTheBuilder threads; you haven't even scratched the surface of pointless. This at least had some entertainment value.

Damn technology spoiling things. We used to play it with two pieces of paper we had drawn grids on, with alpha/numeric coordinates, and a degree of honesty.

The issue though is that with these other things, such as Halo or Sonic, the title is named after a main character or a main event or whatever.

BUT in the game Battleship the actual battleship is not a main event. It is arguably no less or more important than any of the other ships as you need to sink ALL the opposition's ships to win. It is not even the biggest ship, I believe the aircraft carrier is bigger by 1 tile.
