RE: Favourite games. Ever!
I'm not really a gamer, but I guess I'll answer anyway.
I'd have to say Crysis/Warhead if not just for the physics/graphics/realism alone. Favorite GTA was probably Vice City. A lot of people say SA, but I remember when Vice City came out shit was hype. I bought San Andreas before it came out (the first and only game i ever pre-ordered and picked up the night it came out). I thought it was great but, I don't think it ever matched the pure feel and nostalgia that Vice City gives me to this day. Fallout 3 was great. I can't even remember why I bought it, I'm just glad I did. That open world is the shit; you can basically play that game forever and not get sick of it. Halo is probably obvious. Halo was really the first game I saw cats playing multi-player on, and as far as I can remember it's where the popularity of multiplayer came from. Online wasn't big with Halo, it was more at people's cribs, but after the popularity of Halo and other games like it, I saw people making games more specifically for multiplayer then eventually online, leading to games we have today like Modern Warfare and shyt. Mario never fails. Mario 64 was the truth when it came out. Hell the original Nintendo Mario Bros is probably one of if not the best games all time. Mario Galaxy was my shit. I think that is the only reason the Wii is worth a damn. I saw someone mention Unreal Tournament. I was never into games, but I remember when I was a kid my friend at the time really was. I remember him giving me a copy of the game so I could put it on my computer. I think that was the first online, first person shooter, multiplayer game I ever played. Back before I knew anything about online, FPS, or any of that. That was a sick game too. I remember he showed me how to get online with it and shyt, and now that I think of it, that was way ahead of its time for me. Like I mentioned before, people who weren't nerds, as far as I know, really weren't into games like this until after Halo. If I think of something else I'll come back. (15-04-2012 10:39 AM)Ninett Wrote: Realms Of The HauntingSome excellent games there. I still have my copy of Might and Magic 6. It's the best of the series, and one of the best cRPGs ever if you can get past the dated graphics. And I'm so disappointment they never made a third instalment of TLJ/Dreamfall! I'll second this post and add Morrowind, The first Mass Effect game, and Discworld Noir to the list. Discworld Noir is a must play if you're any fan of Pratchett and/or Noir films. Starsiege: Tribes ('97)
And heres some fan art I made for the recent Tribes:Ascend game. ![]() Its free to play, so check it out if you're interested in a more physics oriented shooter with slow moving projectiles and jet packs... I can't stand those fast twitch shooters. |

Tribes, good game (it looks like, haven't gotten around to downloading it yet due to badnwidth restrictions here.) It's on my to-download-and-play list.
Played Planetside 2 for a bit but.. it sucks. The concept is fantastic, but the actually gameplay is shit. Is Tribes like Planetside 2 or more like CoD/BF/Halo/Etc.. in the sense that you join a lobby then get put into a battle, then the battle ends and you get put abck in the lobby etc..? ![]() |

T:A I find to play much better than Planetside 2. I found PS2 very clunky in the controls. T:A also has a server list, or quick play. Once in a server(private or quick play), you stay in the server after the match and the next map loads. You don't really get a lobby, but once you learn the movement mechanics and how to maintain momentum, you can start quick shoutouts of commands using the VGS("shazbot!") menu. |
