I bought a 5th of whiskey (Nikka Black) out of a vending machine for 700¥!

When I was in the service - they had beer in vending machines - for 25 cents....

The difference between prayer and masturbation - is when a guy is through masturbating - he has something to show for his efforts.

They still have beer machines, but they aren't 25 cents anymore Tongue

Everything off base was pretty expensive to the point that my cost of living allowance, as a young E-3/E-4, almost doubled my pay. But since I lived in the barracks and did most of my shopping in the commissary or the base exchange, my living expenses weren't actually any higher than they'd be anywhere else. It was just extra money to blow, and blow it I did. My work/on-call rotation allowed for 4 days off every two weeks, and for those we'd do anything from taking the bullet train into Tokyo to hopping on free flights to Korea. I would have stayed in Misawa indefinitely if they had been willing to let me.

I don't know the veracity of this, and I'm not going to research it. I guess that isn't really such a bad kink, but damn, come on, guys.

I don't know about the little girl part but there are machines that do sell used panties. I have a friend who lives in Tokyo and I asked him that specifically. His answer was yes but they aren't that common.

We had that too, in the early '70s. I think it was 35¢ then. I was in Navy "A" school in Illinois, where you could get beer in the EM club, but nothing else, and off base the drinking age was 21. We'd drive up to Wisconsin to get teh bourbons.

Nope. The wife has been there and told me all about all the business men reading porn on the train.

Reading? Porn?

Its called Manga aka Hentai, they are sort of like comic books in the United States but for Japanese its the XXX version. That's the go to thing for Japanese nerds Smile I see them here too from Japanese travelers few times. Its sort of disturbing in a way but hey, who am I to judge Tongue
