Dodgy

George Carlin summed it up best:

"Do you believe in god?"
"no"
BOOM! DEAD!

"Do you believe in god?"
"Yes"
"Do you believe in MY god?"
"No"
BOOM! DEAD!
"MY GOD HAS A BIGGER DICK THAN YOUR GOD!"

Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense. You're just not keeping up.

It was in "C is for cunnilingus"

I was going to say it was in the book published by Hustler "A is for Anal" but that works just as well.

So my guess is he stumbled upon bible from one of the regions he was visiting, saw how people worshiped, and figured what if I twist this just a bit and make my self the prophet. And ta dah, worked well for him because in no time he created an empire that spread everywhere. But that's just my guess because the similarities between the two religions is overwhelming.

There's a fascinating book by the historian Tom Holland, called "In the Shadow of the Sword", where he goes into the origins of Islam in some detail, including the influence of Christianity. He does put in quite a bit of his own opinion, but he does include references. I'd be interested to know what his standing is with other historians - according to his wikipedia page he's legit Tongue

I got the book. I'll let you know what I think of it once done reading Smile

RE: Favourite pictures for a laugh at religion...
My biker uncle, the one who taught me to build customs, had a long driveway so he could see the JWs coming, and he would get butt naked and go sit in the living room (all 6'7", 300 pounds of hairy, bearded biker!) to wait while my sweet and demure-appearing aunt (~5'3" and ~110 pounds) invited them to come in and share their faith. They reported that about one out of five visits would actually result in the bold evangelists attempting to stay and present their whole case.

I miss the heck out of that guy. Undecided
