RE: Favourite pictures for a laugh at religion...
SitaSky, they have many a nice rant about religion on QI (naturally), but my favourite’s gotta be Alan’s befuddlement early on in the series: why do they believe it, Stephen, why do they believe it?!

“Alan Davies: You are really clever, why do they believe it all? Can’t they just go: “Bwooh, that was mad, I thought that was true for a minute.” Why do people believe it?!
Stephen Fry: Because they are foolish and ignorant and scared."

Also, De Praeputio Domini Nostri Jesu Christi Diatriba (A Discussion of the Foreskin of Our Lord Jesus Christ), claiming that the Holy Prepuce ascended, like Jesus himself, and was transformed into the rings of Saturn. And a saint who makes Mother Theresa look almost cuddly Facepalm

“Catherine of Siena was one of the weirder of the saints. She believed that Christ gave her his foreskin - as a wedding ring in their mystical marriage.
with its invisible foreskin on it as a ring. She was an extreme anorexic, a peculiar woman and she also actively sought out degrading experiences. She once drank a cup full of cancerous pus from a woman who had abused her, so naturally...”

And this. ‘Nuff said, really.

@DonaldTrump, Patriotism is not honoring your flag no matter what your country/leader does. It's doing whatever it takes to make your country the best it can be as long as its not violent.

You totally made me google a local Baptist church, because I had to see if it was their sign. Same name, not same sign outside. Tongue

Let's keep the math straight. He would not have ordered 300 cubits. He would have need something like 3,000 cubic cubits.

And it's gotta be a mistranslation. It's gotta be beaver wood.

And while Noah is down at the saw mill God is buying a diffraction grating at Edmond's Scientific so He can make a rainbow.

Oddly enough, they didn't have saws that would have been useful for cutting that much wood back then. So each tree would have provided just a couple of boards. No wonder that area is a desert now.
