RE: Fear of getting a regular job
LOL - rejecting him. Really, what is there to reject if there's nothing?

What one faces suddenly is everything.

Prayer, for example, for getting through a job interview changes. Knowing it's all on you, the burden is heavier.

It's better to know the truth, but it doesn't make it easier.

Don't worry about it, though... it's nothing important.

You raise an important issue. If God isn't real, then why did I feel his peace when I believed in him but I've become mentally ill when I stopped believing? Consider

You are possibly misinterpreting the facts.

Possible interpretations also include:
  • You went from mental illness to no mental illness;
  • You went from one mental illness to another mental illness;
  • Losing the first mental illness uncovered the second (pre-existing) mental illness

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

I think I'll go with Kineo. His explanation is way less complicated. Big Grin

I don't tend to like change, especially in jobs. So it's always tough. You could see a doctor about getting treatment for anxiety, like medication or something along those lines. You can just deal with it head on. Or you can not deal with it at all.

I have a lot of anxiety in social issues, like going out to a bar with friends. I much prefer not going, but when I do go I get really nervous up until I get there. Then I usually have a good time. But still, I don't stay long and want to get back home.

RE: Fear of getting a regular job
I can only tell you how I cope CTS with my anxietys and since I had a bit of a breakdown at the start of the year I have changed dramatically through the things I do.

Be conscious of your thoughts.... with this what I did was I set an alarm on the hour on my phone and everytime It went off I would start to consciously think about what I was doing, where my thoughts were (negative/positive).

When I notice that my "inner voice" is saying negative shit then I shout over it with more positive thoughts...... I used different mantras and at first they were like...

I can do this...
I can do this...
I can do this...

and there wasnt much conviction behind it..... so thats why I shout.....

I CAN DO THIS
I CAN DO THIS
I CAN DO THIS

and I really get myself worked up till im fucking buzzing about the place.

With regards to how you cope for me I have a diary that I write in every single night before I go to sleep..... I pour out all my thoughts and insecurities and when I look at them I try to turn them into positives..... Its also good for looking back on, you can write down an insecurity and then a few days later look back at it and you will more than likely think "WTF was I even thinking that for????"

I also have what I call "warning signs" where I have wrote down all of the "bad" things that I used to do.... that were no good for me.... and if I saw any of these then I realise that Im going back down that slippery slope again and I make sure I dont.

Give yourself a break every now and again from your thoughts..... might sound a bit "new age" but Id say try meditating where you just concentrate on your breathing in and out and try not to silence your thoughts but simply observe them coming and going. None of us really breathe fully and properly anyway but if you do then It is very hard for your body to stay in a state of stress once you have calmed your thoughts. You dont have to sit cross legged in the lotus position or any of that jazz and you can do it with your eyes open.... whatever way suits you best if you do try it.

For no matter how much I use these symbols, to describe symptoms of my existence.
You are your own emphasis.
So I say nothing.
