Firewalking anyone?
Has anyone on the forum done any firewalking? For a short while I was mystified by this but always noticed how fast people walked over the coals. They aren't lingering that's for sure. I came across this article that explains the technique.

There's also the Mythbusters guys.

And from Skeptics Magazine...

I have read that sometimes people in a trance can walk slower and dance on the coals and stuff but the coals aren't as hot and one would think. It's hookum folks.

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

It only hurts the first time. Laugh out load

Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense. You're just not keeping up.

I think one does have to kinda get psyched up to do it but then anything scarey it that way. I have to psyche myself up to go to the dentist too. I noticed the Mythbusters experiment coals weren't as fluffed up as the ones in the Skeptics video and the mythbusters guy burned his feet.

Ok. I dub this officially silly. Laughat But actually one thing I read was that many of the native people who firewalk don't wear shoes much of the time so they also have thick skin on the bottom of their feet. It really helps with the firewalking. Hobbitgirl, you'd do great! It'd be a........ Tongue cakewalk Tongue....... for you! Hardy-har-har.
