First Animal?
Hey everyone! I found this article on Yahoo and was extremely interested in it:
http://news.yahoo.com/namibia-sponge-fos...40973.html

According to the article, this new sponge is between 760-550 million years old and is the first or one of the first animals to have appeared. What do y'all think about it?

I hope this wasn't posted somewhere else already :/.

Fascinating Smile

It's incredible how scientists can (carbon) date fossils - especially this ancient!

Humankind Dodgy (a total misnomer)

It is a great discovery indeed. Hopefully, they'll be able to study it a bit more because this sounds very interesting.

They keep finding something older. I find that real interesting. So much for this earth being 10,000 years old. How can anyone with a brain believe that?
