RE: First GOP Debate!
Incidentally, while searching for a quote from a book I like, in another thread, I stumbled across a quote that I rather liked for this thread:

“There is a difference between the inmates of your criminal prisons and the inmates of your cultural prison: The former understand that the distribution of wealth and power inside the prison had nothing to do with justice.”
― Daniel Quinn, Ishmael

"Theology made no provision for evolution. The biblical authors had missed the most important revelation of all! Could it be that they were not really privy to the thoughts of God?" - E. O. Wilson

I think you can be correct. It is all about politics. Both sides sell some lies.

Even the highest-paid people with PhDs in our department barely made over $50K. Hardly fat-cats. It's not the reason you do such work. You do such work because you don't like agricultural mega-corporations poisoning your water supplies, or mining companies destroying ecosystems, just so they can make a bigger profit... and believe me, they will do EXACTLY that, the instant you stop watching them. Anyone who advocates for a smaller EPA is either insane or works for/profits from large corporations.
I didn't talk about salaries of some individuals. EPA eats lots of money.
Knowing that IRS and other agencies waste PEOPLE'S money I have no doubts EPA does the same.
I do not believe everything EPA says. I believe they sell some lies to get more for agency.
I believe that not all regulations are about clean water and air. It is also about collecting more money for the agency. They need more power. Every agency in the USA is corrupt.

If you charge them $50,000 a day for dumping carcinogens in the water, and they can make $75,000/day by doing it, they'll cut a check daily. I have seen it! Indeed, when I got cancer in 2008 at the age of 31, I figured it was a direct result of all the chemical-laden streams/rivers I have had to crawl through, taking samples for analysis.
I heard arguments of both sides.
Hey, EPA, take it easy.
We need to grow economy, we need to develop better and more safe technologies.
It will help.
P.S. I feel sad to hear again about what happened to you. I am glad you are still here.Smile

RE: First GOP Debate!
Alla is doing an excellent job of showing the dangers in an ill informed electorate. The things she thinks are costing her money are in fact saving her far far more and the things actually hurting her she rushes to defend. Welfare is killing the US but it is not the welfare going to the poor, corporate and industrial-military welfare is the true enemy of the people.

Yes, violence can be justified in order to fulfil the ideas. I love what you said.

quote form the article:
"People still feel they want more solidarity in the system but THEY ARE ACTING DIFFERENTLY,” says Brandt. This gap between principle and practice threatens to systematically neglect a growing population of needy and excluded persons in Denmark.
I wonder why they acting differently/not according to what they want?

I found another quote: "A study of the discourse and practices surrounding that system suggests that Danish society has effectively ABANDONED—IN PRACTICE if not yet in mind—THE IDEALS underlying the original conception for the Danish Model.
Why do they abandon the ideals in practice (if not yet in mind)?

You have trouble with reading comprehension? Or this is idiotic attempt at making straw-man?

Ideas can be used to justify violence does not mean violence is justified.

RE: First GOP Debate!
I like this quote from the article:" The founding mantra of the Danish welfare system was essentially, “contribute what you CAN and get what you NEED.” Today, the system operates more in accordance with the idea that you should “contribute what you can and get in proportion to your contribution.” In other words, it has effectively changed from a system rooted in solidarity to one rooted in individualism.
I always new that this mantra "contribute what you can and get what you need" is ridiculous.
What if I can do little work but I need a lot, like really, really a lot.

Mantra: "contribute what you can and get in proportion to your contribution".
what if I am sick or stupid and I can not contribute a lot, but my needs are greater then I contribute?
