Telling an atheist they're going to hell is like telling a grown-up they're not getting any gifts from Santa or the Easter Bunny.

The proper response is: "I've had worse threats."

Don't let those gnomes and their illusions get you down. They're just gnomes and illusions.

RE: First time told I am going to hell
Don't think I have been told it yet, I could be wrong but if I was I would just reply with something witty like "So is this your way of inviting me over to your place for dinner?" or "I'm already here, I know because the devil is standing right in front of me." or "Cool, just need to stop by Narnia real quick."

RE: First time told I am going to hell
Not about hell but I did meet my first evolution denier...why does this feel like a rite of passage?

So I went to this abortion discussion or whatever, like 20 people there, there were like 2 other pro-choice people lol. One guy in the audience was going on about how we are losing our christian values and even Obama says we are not a Christian nation (gasp!). So obviously I rebuked that bit of ignorance, and the speaker guy (who was actually really cool) was like "mm, let's get back on topic." Then after the thing was over this other guy (with buttons on his hat I might add) engages me in this discussion about how if I really look into it all the founding fathers were Christian and founded the country on Christian values. He kept going back to how freedom of religion is the FIRST thing in the Constitution, as if that were some rationale for him to push his religion on everyone else. This guy had a SERIOUS persecution complex. Anyway, he also said you choose to be gay, you can't be moral without god, and evolution is false. Also Darwin was bitter about his children's death and wanted to disprove god, and he had a deathbed conversion. I pretty much straight said he didn't but this guy was insistent. Then he's like "if you don't believe in god just watch the sunrise, I mean how is that possible without god?" Me: blank stare. At any rate we were very respectful even if he is the most ignorant person I've ever met lol. End of rant

Tldr; I met a crazy evolution denier

edit: He also said Jesus came to update what god said in the old testament so we can just ignore all that. And Obama is a socialist Muslim.

That's what a ship is, you know. It's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship needs but what a ship is... what the Black Pearl really is... is freedom. -Jack Sparrow

Actually they are also commanded to judge.

Leviticus 19:15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

1st Corinthians 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
1st Corinthians 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?.
1st Corinthians 6:4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.

Can't imagine telling someone this. Ugh. I used to think they were doing it out of concern, but now...it's just self righteous people being self righteous. :/
