Don't bother going on with Childish, he's as bad as PJ or Blowme on the apologist scales...he'll drag you through 300 pages of repeating the same circular minutia.

But what's worse about Ce he pretends his aphasia riddled nonsense means something profound.

Just tell him to shoo fly and be done.

And childish when you see this and I know you will...

Just...
Shoo fly!

Aren't there still a couple states where it's illegal for an atheist to run for any public office?

Or rather they have laws in place saying that you must be religious. Undecided

Meaning, from a stupid fairytale BOOK, dumbass.
As I said I didn't get it from a book. Just as the Gospel preceded the bible known as the New Testament...

Yes and the Peoples Republic of Maryland is one of them. It is on the books but non-enforced in theory should just be taken off the books, blatantly unconstitutional.

It isn't that you have to be "religious" per say, the law just says you must swear an oath to a god. Yes several states, including mine still have this bullshit language written into their state constitutions.

Having said that, considering Supreme Court precedence and the supremacy clause all it would take to negate this crap is a good solid lawsuit. It's just that for the few remaining states the cases, if any have never gotten that high.

The cop out excuse given by many is the watered down "It's just ceremonial", well if that is the case then it is superfluous crap. Which is why "So Help Me God" is NOT in the federal oath because they knew people didn't buy into the same god claims. Which makes those words voluntary not mandatory.
