For our debaters (mainly of politics)
Remember self-care. Make sure you are eating enough, taking care of hygiene, and doing things that relax you.

Some people can have a debate without going bonkers. Some people seem to enjoy the feeling of blood pressure that one day will cause blood to gush from their eye sockets. You can easily identify which is which. Big Grin

Spirited debate of issues is the only thing that keeps a democratic Republic healthy. If we just "chill", then those in office can mislead our fellow voters into re-electing them, then just doing whatever they want on behalf of those who are very (financially) interested in shaping the laws and policies of the nation.

In the words of the song "Freewill", by Rush:

If you choose not to decide,
You still have made a choice.

"Theology made no provision for evolution. The biblical authors had missed the most important revelation of all! Could it be that they were not really privy to the thoughts of God?" - E. O. Wilson

Fuck Drumpf.

Atheism is NOT a Religion. It's A Personal Relationship With Reality!

Maybe this thread is just something I need so I don't lose my sanity. That could be it. Sorry about any inconveniences.

RE: For our debaters (mainly of politics)
Like most other folks with an IQ at least in triple digits, I enjoy a meaningful debate about the things that matter in the mid- to long-term, and on a more global level.

I find far too many people these days—and surprisingly more so with the so-called 'millennials'—that public debate is becoming a thing of the past. Lots of Aussie kids are very inarticulate when it comes to their expressing a worldly point of view.

Ask an Australian teenager if he/she thinks global warming is anthropogenic, and you'll get a response along the lines of "Uh... err, yeah, I s'pose so". End of debate—such as it was LOL.

Press them further and their response will be something like "Ummm... shit, I dunno. Someone said that on Facebook."

Facepalm

I'm a creationist... I believe that man created God.

Easy for you to say. Try doing it with psychomotor retardation. Tongue

Of course, it's easier said than done. Trust me,
