For those 40 + years old....
If you could, would you go back to a younger age? What age and why? What were the best features of each decade of age?

No, you can't take the knowledge you have with you. You'd have to start fresh with what you knew then.

I wouldnt do any of that. I would not go back either. I am glad my time is coming because I see how the vast majority of humans are on this planet and I am ashamed to call myself a human. My time will come and I will no longer have to deal with the greedy, dispicable sons of bitches who dominate this planet anymore. Im like george Carlin on this topic: Fuck you world. Im glad Im leaving you.

RE: For those 40 + years old....
I'm not much interested in the idea of having to live the same life all over again. Being able to go back with ideas of various changes seems more alluring to me.

But I'd say my favorite decade was my 30s...I felt that was my peak decade in a lot of ways. I had the most confidence and disposable income.

It was just a fucking apple man, we're sorry okay? Please stop the madness Laugh out load

RE: For those 40 + years old....
I am not 40+ but approaching 30 with huge steps, so I am going to post here anyway Tongue

I would not want to go back to any point in my life.
I know when I was 15, I always said, that I do not want to get older because it's a perfect age. I think this is true, you are young, most likely not ill in any way, you are open to the world and it is easy to learn things.
But on the other hand you are dependent and that's not very cool.

Right now I feel the best I have ever felt in my life, maybe because finally things are moving, and they are moving in the direction that I want them to. So maybe right now is my best time? I'll see how I judge that when I am 40 Big Grin

RE: For those 40 + years old....
It sucks that we can't carry some knowledge back with us...that would be a game-changer.

My childhood was awful most of the time with glimmers of greatness that were then dashed.

So 0-10 is out.

My teens were horrifying, super-strict and highly abusive parents...outsider at home, school, and elsewhere so 11-18 also out.

Twenties were full of party behavior but not fun in the long run.

Thirties...okay most of the time, busy raising the kids.

Forties the best...enjoyed my kids activities and loved being at the ball diamond or football field.

But overall...it's been years of struggling to survive...still is...I don't think I can pick a best decade, I hope it's still ahead.

I'm not anti-social. I'm pro-solitude.

RE: For those 40 + years old....
0-10 was pretty good, not really a care in the world but then my mum died when I was almost 11.

11-20 was good and bad, my father struggled to take care of both my brother and myself not so much financially but emotionally as he had been in WWII and kept most of his feelings to himself. I basically brought myself up in those years. The worst part was that my education suffered as I was unruly in the classroom and Dad didn't believe in homework (in my earlier years I was at private school and as it was so strict there was no problem).

21-30 were the best years. I was now a mum and had a great job as a professional dancer (no, not a stripper Dodgy ). Those were definitely the best years as I worked at night and got to spend my days with my son (his father left me when I was pregnant).

31-40 hmmm...good and bad as I became a masseur which was fab but I constantly picked the wrong partners. Then my father died which was devastating.

41-... well, still living these years...

In summing up, I don't think I could go back without the knowledge I have now as I really like who I am and although I have no significant 'other half' I'm pretty happy. I was a bit of a dumb-arse back then Tongue but as they say, 'ignorance is bliss' lol

Humankind Dodgy (a total misnomer)

Nah. Nothing needs fixing. I'd just dick it up differently anyway.

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.

Ive seen all of the 70's 80's 90's 00's and 10's - I have seen the middle class vanish and I have seen the greed of my fellow citizens grow in replacement of it. America...you have fucked up badly. Perhaps beyond repair. You have mistaken kindness and sharing with socialism and marxism...it will be your undoing.

39. The current me without any gray hairs yet found.

I devoted my 20s to my career, my 30s to my family, the 40s are for me!

RE: For those 40 + years old....
I'm rapidly putting the final touches on my sixth decade. Almost anything I could say would be incomplete and misleading. But just about everything involving getting older is better .. except for the physical decay. Like the rev, i don't begrudge having to give up this life when the time comes. I'm quite certain that is the end of it. No afterlife of any kind. Don't buy anything from anyone who tells you otherwise.

I do wish I could do more in a day than I can now and that my right thumb and wrist weren't weak and achy. But what are you gonna do? It is all part of the deal, and a damned good deal it is too.

No do-overs for me. I'm interested in covering new ground.
