Irrelevant.

My point was in regards to consistency in historical validation of figures in antiquity.

In that case, and in order to move the discussion along, what are your responses to some of the topical replies earlier in this thread?

The gist of everyone's opinion is that attribution is prime.

So a man named Jesus existed a couple thousand years ago. So what?

Atheism is the only way to truly be free from sin.

I'm not sure what is meant by 'attribution'.

Does it mean that it's not so important whether their actual existence can be validated, it's more important to understand the acts, deeds, saying, teachings that have been attributed to them?

If that is what is meant, I'd say no. This would only matter if somehow the attribution validated something.

The acts, deeds, saying, teachings etc. need to be evaluated on their merits and would be equally valid (or not) when disassociated from the real or fictional or portmanteau person... i.e. unattributed.

Yes

there are 4 Jesus Christ's alive today, what was the point of this thread again.

Theism is to believe what other people claim, Atheism is to ask "why should I".

For someone claiming to be non-religious, you sure talk a lot about religion(s).

Because a discussion of religion was brought up. Not to mention, a lot of us used to be religious.

Also, even if a jesus existed (for the sake of discussion), how would someone decide next that said person was actually the son of god? Many people have claimed to be such a fellow. Even if someone walked around (jesus) and was written about in a book, how does that make the story credible about that person being a figure of a deity? If someone wrote a book and made a religion about me, would that make me the son of god 2 thousand years later if people bought into said book?
