'shimmyjimmy',

Here, below, is a link to a previous thread in which many of us pretty well sum of our thoughts on the historicity of the Jesus character from the bible, whether he existed or not, and what that would even mean if he did.

I was responding in kind to someone who seemed to think that non-Christians can't talk about Jesus.

Many people have claimed to be such a fellow. Even if someone walked around (jesus) and was written about in a book, how does that make the story credible about that person being a figure of a deity? If someone wrote a book and made a religion about me, would that make me the son of god 2 thousand years later if people bought into said book?

Not the point.

RE: For those who reject the existence of Jesus...
I do not reject the existence of Jesus. I reject the existence of Jesus Christ Messiah. I reject the existence of any gods and their illegitimate offspring. So sure their was some guy with a name who lived a long time ago and now that forgot and/or mistranslated his name so they call him Jesus. He was irrelevant. I do not reject his existence I reject the idea that his existence whether real or fabricated is relevant.

Because it's all you got to say! Don't have to e'splain shit! Just make an assertion, and BAM, argument refuted, and in a supper sassy way, too.

No need to have points or reasons to back yo shit up. Just "irrelevant", and you're done. 'shimmyjimmy' taught me that.....I learned it from watching her.

Why post in a discussion forum if there's going to be no discussion? If you're going to refuse to participate other than the occasional "thumbs down" from the bleachers, this is better suited as a blog post, or a Facebook status update.
