Forget Coffins! Here's an interesting new idea.
Forget Coffins – Organic Burial Pods Will Turn Your Loved Ones Into Trees

"After being encapsulated in the fetal position, the deceased is buried and either a tree or tree seed is planted above their capsule. The project’s site already has a number of trees to choose from."

Honestly, I think it's an awesome idea. Restore trees instead of cutting them for coffins, your loved ones will "still be with you", in a way.

It's better than the mushroom thing.

But as if to knock me down, reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch, cut me into little pieces

Neat. Big Grin

Also, what I personally think would be awesome: strap me to a rocket (in some kind of nifty space capsule) and send me off to space so I can travel the galaxy. ^__^

The tree of life.

The idea isn't new but this particular variation of it is certainly original.

I'm still intending to be fish-food, though... quicker recycling.

Been planting trees over our dead critters since I can remember. I've always said I'd like the same done with my body when I kick it.

...if anyone cares, I'd like it to be an arbutus tree if possible.

So many cats, so few good recipes.

I had to go a-googling for that. Good choice...

Not Cannabis sativa or Cannabis indica?

We have so many hurricanes here, my original wish was to be buried in a tree's roots. That way, one day when there's a big hurricane, the winds would rip the tree out of the ground along with my skeleton.

Apparently that's not legal.
