Forget about the Republicans and Democrats.
I really get tired of the pettiness of our political system. We set around fighting over the kitchen scraps of our economy while the entire world is suffering from a income imbalance that staggers the mind. Why if we are in a global economy have we not yet concentrated on the world we live in and created an entity, with the teeth and the power to bring order to a world beset by greed, power mongering and poverty.

Should the world not stand up for it's citizens, no matter what border they reside in.

(1) What should that body be, since The U.N. has not yet succeeded in either stopping the aggression of some countries, even against it's own citizens. We can see that in Syria and North Korea, where the governments completely ignore the needs of it's citizens.

(2) what powers should this entity be given to cross international borders to bring contrary countries back into allignment and to secure the safety of the citizens there? Not only from aggression from their governments, but also from criminal elements, if that element has overwhelmed the countries ability to control them, like the pirates of Somalia and the Drug Cartels of Mexico.?

(3) How should this body handle the challenges to bring a standard of humanity to a world who has countries determined to remain unequal because of cultural or religious dictates.

(4) Would the governments that control the higher economies and industrial might and a stranglehold on power sources ever relinquish their control over their bases of power, so that such resources can be used to bring the rest of the world up and should they, if there are so many tyrants who control these under privileged countries that would abuse those resources.

RE: Forget about the Republicans and Democrats.
Well, the USA tried to do that (or something similar) in Iraq and Afghanistan, but I don't think I need to point out all the reasons why and how that didn't work.

Some of the most basic things is the ignorance of the USA troops, you can not come into some country without knowing and respecting all their history, traditions and culture. That makes a huge gap between the people and the "liberators".

Also, those "liberators" usually get overexcited (the foot soldiers) and then they start acting like they own the place, so they take what they want, do what they want and have weapons to back them up. This brings us back to the first think, the one about history, traditions and cultures of the country you are in.

Without these two things solved out there is no military (or civilian) group of nations that can bring us world peace, because people are beasts when it comes to war and war, war never changes...

Sorry but the U.S. went into those places because of the pesky little problem of quote/unquote small people responding to the west screwing around in their homelands and helping certain west friendly tyrannts to rape their land. Did we not aid saddam at some point in time. Then when he wasn't a good little doggy and play nice with those who played nice with us, they stepped on him and endded up stepping into a world of S@^T that we'll be in for the next decade or so.

Why stop at just Liberalism and Conservatism? Anarchism, Libertarianism, and Authoritarianism are also flawed and petty. Instead of people taking the best of each system, they stick with one specific belief because of the U.S' mentality that there must only be extremes and no middle ground.

one organism to control the whole world? I don't think that would work very well, besides we have the issue of cutural relativism, how can we say what's good or bad for other nations? and how do we keep such a body? imagine the amount of resources it would take to have a centralized global government!! and how do we guarantee that this body won't become as abusive as today?

I'm all for fixing things as soon as possible, but I fear we make it even worse Sad

RE: Forget about the Republicans and Democrats.
While this is a great concept on the paper (it's just like Star Trek's Earth government) we (the human society) are not ready for this. We might be ready in a few hundred years, but not yet. Today, it would turn into a huge globalization and it would be a horrible. One ruler to rule them all. Imagine the power, imagine the corruption, as One could rule everything legally and openly.

Yes, but not in our lifetime, I hope.

I am so tired of being told that things are black and white Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative, This is what the people who control this country want! They want to drive a wedge between us so we can't unite they want to keep us quarraling among ourselves so that they can screw us all over.

Yup. And 95% of the petty bickering is over stupid meaningless bullshit.

While I agree with you on some of that, it really isn't what the subject is about.
