And now I need to re-listen to the episode...not the legacy Castro probably had in mind.

Disgusting to watch the left in America as well as other countries call this sick fuck a great leader and hero. When leaders like Obama and the Canadian PM gloss over Castro's atrocities and call him a "friend" it shows exactly what the left's true agenda is. This guy is the model for the way they want the entire world to run. Socialist dictatorship.

That's funny, if it wasn't so sad.

Do you actually believe that? I am starting to think you are just a troll. All you ever do is sling insults around, and often twist things completely around. I doubt anyone can actually believe this stuff, especially not a skeptic.

It's hard to understand this post through all that straw. Drinking Beverage

I am not accountable to any God. I am accountable to myself - and not because I think I am God as some theists would try to assert - but because, no matter what actions I take, thoughts I think, or words I utter, I have to be able to live with myself.

RE: Forman Cuban leader Fidel Castro died.
From an article I read in the National Review, July 2007, by Jay Nordlinger.

——I've excerpted some salient points that suggest that the supposedly excellent and free Cuban public health system is nothing more than a myth; and that it's been debunked in article after article, for the last several decades since Castro seized power in 1959.

To be sure, there is excellent health care on Cuba—just not for ordinary Cubans. Dr. Jaime Suchlicki of the University of Miami’s Institute for Cuban and Cuban-American Studies explains that there is not just one system, or even two: There are three...

The first is for wealthy foreigners who come to Cuba specifically for medical treatments such as botox, liposuction, and breast implants, all in top-class medical facilities...

The second system is for Cuban elites—the Party, the military, official artists and writers, and so on, again in top-class facilities...

Then there's the real Cuban system, the one that ordinary people must use—and it is wretched. Testimony and documentation on the subject are vast. Hospitals and clinics are crumbling. Conditions are so unsanitary, patients may be better off at home, whatever home is. If they do have to go to the hospital, they must bring their own bedsheets, soap, towels, food, light bulbs—even toilet paper!

And basic medications are scarce. In Cuba, finding an aspirin can be a chore. And an antibiotic will fetch a fortune on the black market. A nurse spoke to Isabel Vincent of Canada’s National Post. "We have nothing, said the nurse. "I haven’t seen aspirin in a Cuban store here for more than a year. If you have any pills in your purse, I’ll take them. Even if they have passed their expiry date."

The equipment that doctors have to work with is either antiquated or nonexistent. Doctors have been known to reuse latex gloves—there is no choice. When they travel to the island, on errands of mercy, American doctors make sure to take as much equipment and as many supplies as they can carry. One told the Associated Press, "The Cuban doctors are pretty well trained, but they have nothing to work with. It’s like operating with knives and spoons."

If this is true (I don't know myself) then it makes a mockery of Cuba's alleged wonderful health system—and by extension Castro's image as a humanitarian.

And as a footnote, the Wall Street Journal gives an apparently accurate answer—based on the work of the late professor Armando Lago—that the number of dissidents that Castro had killed likely approaches 100,000. If this is the case, why then did Obama heap glowing praise on Cuba last month? Obama also promoted the myth of excellent Cuban health care, saying, "The United States recognizes progress that Cuba has made as a nation, its enormous achievements in education and in health care".

Hang on there mate. A couple of Australia's leading Liberal politicians have said the following of Castro...

"A brutal dictator who killed thousands of people and reduced his country to poverty, while being an enemy of both US and western values, as well as human decency. Frankly his legacy is a bad one, and not one that should be celebrated in any way."

"The policies and actions he pursued, in our judgment, weren't in the best interests of the Cuban people. Certainly his hostility towards the West, in particular the United States, we believe imposed significant hardship on the Cuban people."

And even Donald Trump got it right (for once!): "Today, the world marks the passing of a brutal dictator who oppressed his own people for nearly six decades. Fidel Castro’s legacy is one of firing squads, theft, unimaginable suffering, poverty and the denial of fundamental human rights."

However—and true to form—the obsequious and paedophile-harboring Pope Francis sent a telegram to the current Cuban President, offering his "sense of grief to his excellency and family". And—in a sign of his personal esteem—the first Pontiff from Latin America signed the telegram, breaking from the Vatican's usual practice of having the secretary of state send such messages.

To answer your none spoken question, this declaration is true if you take it in perspective. Before Castro rise to power, illetiracy was rampant in Cuban society, now, its at par with the most developped countries. Before Castro rise to power, Cuba healthcare system was atrocious. Now, its better than the American healthcare system if you look at index like life expectency, childbirth deaths, vaccination rates and coverage.

Yes, they lack equipment and medication, especially antibiotics is very concerning. The working conditions of their nurses and doctors are also terrible with little equipment and meager salaries, but they are doing a fantastic job despite this. The World Health Organisation did rewarded Cuba for its contribution in the domain of medecine. Their education and healthcare system are probably the only two things Cuba needs to preserve from Castro's era. We can only hope that the end of didactorship in Cuba, should it come now that Castro is dead, will allow their education and healthcare system to improve instead of regress even further.

Freedom is servitude to justice and intellectual honesty.
