Former Canadian defence minister accuses American government of UFO Cover up

Is there any evidence other than his statement ?

And if there isn't - doesn't this make an "appeal to authority" logical fallacy ?

Show me UFOs, alien bodies , transmissions - anything. Once the evidence is sufficient I will gladly accept sentient organisms from other parts of the universe as fact.Until then - they remain a probability.

As a funny side note - the only comment to be skeptical of this story is the worst rated.

NO EVIDENCE. Throught tens of thousands of claimed UFO sightings, secret data files and millions of hours of SETI scanning as many channels of the sky as possible. NOTHING, NADA, ZIP, NIL, ZERO AND CRICKETS CHIRPING.

When I find myself in times of trouble, Richard Dawkins comes to me, speaking words of reason, now I see, now I see.

Of course there will be cover-ups due to the US testing top secrete technologies.

I wasn't making an argument for his case. Just linking the story, so there's no way I can be accused of making a logical fallacy.

In a place like Central Europe it would be very hard to find a lot of space to test advanced aerial technologies. I suspect that this may have been the case. Maybe either a military or but a company test flight.

A lot of people are have no idea how to read aerial phenomenon and just about anything incuding common airplanes, weather balloons and even planets have been the reality behind many UFO reports. A few years ago near Phoenix, Arizona several aerial flares where dropped during a military exercise to light up the area for night training. This hit the news world wide as a major UFO sighting.

I remember a similar thing happening here in Manitoba. No J, do you remember ten years ago or so, when they dropped flares over the Shilo base, and there were hundreds of reports from Brandon of UFOs? It caused quite the stir for a couple days. It was unusual because they were testing different flares, so they spread out the drop zones to compare the amount of ground illumination. I guess it made it look like a whole bunch of aliens were headed to Brandon. (Cuz I know if I were an alien planning to take over the world, Brandon Manitoba would be the first place I'd take over! LMAO)

So many cats, so few good recipes.

I'll take Neil Tyson's stance on this stuff.

Why do people forget what UFO stands for? It means Unidentified Flying Object. It's unidentified because you don't know what it is, so people need to stop jumping to conclusions.
