That's not my eye you're holding. Evil_monster

As to the OP, there's elements of both at play.

Well it is a one eyed monster is it not? Evil_monster

RE: Forum or Community
I am one of the ones who cries "both".

However, every poster is part of the forum, while the ones who have been around more tend to form a community within the forum.

We do have a lot of things in common. We don't believe, we are human and go through many, many of the same experiences. We eat, we drink, we sleep, we work, we play, we interact with others, we meet new people and lose people we've known.

And so on and so forth.

Basically we are all the same, just that we draw different conclusions based on different life experiences. And discussing that is always interesting.

So, I say there is a forum and there is a community within the forum.

HoC, KC and Dom,

You can vote for both.

And, Dom, are you saying that we are the same in that we are all different?

RE: Forum or Community
I see it as both. There are so many people here I look forward to seeing on line, reading what they think on a subject or just getting a good laugh when they decide a thread needs a bit of levity. Some users I just avoid their threads as I know it'll be a waste of time.

I thought this would be a lot more impersonal when I signed up, I'm glad I was wrong.

I appreciate the effort, sir, but I'm getting hypnotised by the little rotating circle.

I'm sure it was very funny, though.

Well, lol, that too. Makes sense to me Smile

If we are a street with houses, all the houses have walls and doors and windows and a foundation etc. So the building and repair is all pretty much the same. But they have different colors, sizes, ages and furniture and what have you. So they look all different.

Our houses have one more thing in common - none of them display crosses with a dead man nailed to them. (How gross is that, really?)

That gives us plenty in common, as witnessed by all the general type threads about food and pets and everyday stuff, human experiences (dealing with relationships or lack thereof etc.), plus matters concerning life as an atheist.

So, no matter how diverse we are in ways of race, origin, age, politics, walks of life and what have you, there is more than plenty that we do have in common.

And, yes, you are right, we do have in common that there are a lot of things that we don't have in common. We are the same in that we are all different.
