No, only the networks are, because they're under scrutiny by prudish pressure groups. And it's a hell of a difference between European and American tv shows also. There's usually no fuzz about primetime nudity on European tv. The word Pornography also has a different meaning. It requires the display of an actual sexual act in Europe.

I can't imagine that anybody would jerk off to a Picasso painting, but you never know, each to his own.

I was an art major. Drawing the human body is extremely difficult. It becomes almost a clinical experience and takes a lot of concentration. We would have women models but quite a lot of men too. A lot of the guys were from the college football team and they came in the art class eager to impress all the female students but then they discovered how boring it was to sit in one position and not move. The women models were more relaxed about the situation. Not sure why.

In high school art class we had a female model but she wore a tiny bikini. I'll bet today that wouldn't be allowed.

We also had male models, bodies in all shapes and sizes. The women models were indeed more relaxed. They were more at ease with being naked I suppose. Some guys seemed a little embarressed and uneasy with some of the stances they had to take, were as the girls just got on with it.

Whenever we go to Paris, my wife and I make a pilgrimage to the Rodin Museum. The Museum is Rodin's former home and "The Kiss" is displayed in the dining room. I was in the dining room when an American family -- mom, dad, one young son and a younger daughter -- walked in. The mom was the first one to notice "The Kiss" and she went into full nuclear meltdown. She covered her son's eyes and yelled for her husband who came over with his chin hanging on his chest. They immediately herded the kids out the front door. I was so embarrassed to be an American.

It's funny -- when we were flying to Iran in 1974, we stopped for three days in Amsterdam, where we of course went to museums and such, including the Rijksmuseum. My mom covered my eyes when we got to the nudes. Laugh out load

In one of the corridors of the Vatican Museum all the Greek and Roman statues have (later) applied fig leaves. It was fun to bug the guides about that.

Doesn't the Vatican have some inner room that has a lot of erotic paintings? I think I read that somewhere.

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

There might be ?? The tour I was on I was with my gramps and he would never have allowed them to show us (me) that. The corridor I mentioned I think is on the "private" tours route .. in one of the long basements, opening out onto a courtyard. It was a while ago. Can't wait to go back to Rome now, and bike up the Amalfi coast. And drink a lot. Big Grin Maybe next Summer or the next, when we can take my brother when he is old enough.

That's some serious reaction there. My mom was pretty prudish too, but it wouldn't have crossed her mind to cover my eyes because of paintings. And my dad was the exact opposite anyway.

Does anyone remember that old song by Captain and Tenille "Do it to me one more time"? I remember sitting in our car, waiting for my mother, when it played and my father suddenly getting a semblance of thoughtfulness and pointing out the real meaning of the song title. In a pretty explicit fashion.

well, they did un-blur it after they were called out. which is nice, but really..there was no need to in the first place.
