Friday's Asteroid
Once again, it looks like a near miss. This one is going to be pretty close - around 15,000 miles away. Here is an illustration of it's path - as you can see, it will be passing through the ring plane... spooky.

It will be closest on Friday the 15th between 3pm and 10pm.

Interesting, thanks for the link. Have you heard of Apophis? Tried telling some other people about it on here and they thought it was a conspiracy theory Tongue

Yea - Apophis is supposed to pass pretty close in 2029... and it it hits a certain gravitational keyhole it could setup an impact in 2036.
Unsure
Spooky

Damn this things going to be passing us fast, were fortunate that it's not hitting Tongue

Quote:a speed of about 7.8 kilometers per second (17,400 MPH)- or about 8 times the speed of a rifle bullet.

I don't think I will be able to see it. Too bad.

RE: Friday's Asteroid
It could hit a satellite - could - they think. They really aren't quite certain until it gets inside the ring - most anything could effect it's trajectory. Yea - it's gonna be a speedy one. Thumbsup

RE: Friday's Asteroid
Then you have Comet Ison to look forward to in November.

Should be "brighter than the moon" and visible in daylight.... allegedly.

For no matter how much I use these symbols, to describe symptoms of my existence.
You are your own emphasis.
So I say nothing.

There is also Comet PanSTARRS in March/April.

Cool. I'll be driving straight into it every night... I should get a good view.
I hope it turns out brighter than they think - maybe I'll be able to get a picture. Smile
