Friend called me today
Friend called me today and wanted to make sure I (or my wife) was not mad at them since our conversation with them about religion. I had gone so far as calling their god a "prick" (if he was real) then I trampled all over their holy bible! I even laughed about crackers and wine. What surprised me, is he called the me, the Atheist, to make sure I wasn't mad about them having faith! I told him I wasn't "mad" just "disappointed" in his ability to reason. Maybe the world is changing????

Sorry Blush seemed like a good idea at the time.

Gordon, we can't all have invisible "friends" like you. Facepalm

Is this the same friend that had you explain wings on hieroglyphics? If so why did the convo deteriorate so badly?

RE: Friend called me today
I'm going to be honest here, i don't think calling people names and insults is the way to go and then suddenly say you wasn't offended. I mean maybe you weren't?
However you could easily be misunderstood. And be considered offended with the way you proceeded to have this conversation. When i speak to people i'm always clam even if at times i get aggravated. It isn't right for me to throw out insults just like it isn't right for a christian to do the same to us. But i can understand because there is so much you can handle before you wanna bang your head on a wall. Drinking Beverage

Same friend. He's thinking and asking questions.

OK. Pace yourself, the deconversion process can take time, be confusing and painful, calling his god a prick, while funny to us, might not be the best way of helping.

He asks questions you answer, maybe in the form of questions to make him think and let him get there on his own time. My two cents worth.
