Fromitis
Desperate, looking for a kindred soul. I believe I'm the last person alive who is isn't affected by the appalling disease "Where we came fromitis." I don't want to be, but I think I'm the Omega man. A few weeks back I posted on how ridiculous the big bang theory was hoping some fellow atheists would see the fallacies. But no, they up and sided with the religous in their false belief that they know where it all began. The religous and the big bangers keep misspending billions of dollars yearly and wasting untold man hours thrashing out their dogma. No it's not easy being Mr. Omega. But I'll keep a light on in the window hoping some one will find the way. The light may be from a candle or the faint glow of a joint, but the flame will be there.

What? This does not make any sense. It is the random ramblings of a confused person. Is the Big Bang Theory Perfect? No. Does it provide an explanation for what existed before it or what caused it? No. People have speculated on those things and scientists are using instruments like the Large Hadron Collider to learn more but attempting to explain the cause of the Big Bang and what existed prior to the Big Bang in Natural terms is not lunacy but an attempt at scientific process, trying to explain these things in supernatural terms is. Comparing the excuses given by the religious mind and the guesses from the scientific community is preposterous. No one kids themselves in the scientific community by saying they know how it started or why but speculation leads to hypotheses and by definition these hypotheses should be testable. And in comes instruments like...the LHC.

RE: Fromitis
And you think you can explain our origins better than all the worlds top scientists.

Take it away Dr. Galectro, and grab yourself a Nobel Prize when you convince all those clueless scientists. The steady state universe was disproved a long time ago. There is a mountain of observational data that you can check by yourself. All that knowledge is public domain.

Personally I'm not concerned with our origins as much as day to day living and what I will do next. I don't need an absolute answer and I don't think anyone can come up with a complete answer anytime soon.

Some theists might point to the bible and say any answer is better than an answer that isn't 100% certain. I not going to accept a hypothesis from an old book or from one person on the internet claiming to have the ultimate answer to the origin of the universe.

Why are you choosing an atheist forum to post this stuff? Why not choose a forum filled with physics and cosmology graduates? They would enjoy pulling your ideas apart and debating over stuff like that. That is their field!

So many errors, so little time. I do not believe in a steady state universe; it's moving, it's just not going to infinity and beyond. I don't believe I have the ultimate answer to the universe. I don't believe mankind will ever have. I do believe in space-time warp, and space-time warp and the big bang are incompatible. You logically can't have both.

I am from Canada Mr. Omega. When do we fight the vampires?

I personally couldn't give two shits about the big bang theory, or creationism. Neither answer would satisfy me. Really I just wanted to make the connection of Omega Man and The Omega Man, I Am Legend refers to. written by the amazing Richard Matheson. Big Grin

Have an interesting day.

Huh.
Was the poetic style really needed? Like, srsly? Doesn't make you sound sophisticated, guy. It just makes you seem like an ass.

Now, no real scientist can claim that the Big Bang is true, for it is not proven. But that it's a probably truth is undeniable.

And how exactly are "bigbangers" (sounds like a porn site, btw) misspending billions of dollars? Also, while the big bang theory may have faults, that doesn't mean it's not right or at least partially correct.

I still want to know why he's choosing an atheist forum to discuss these things. It really belongs in an astronomy/physics forum.

It would be fun watching how they respond to things like "I do believe in space-time warp, and space-time warp and the big bang are incompatible. You logically can't have both."

With known physics there are some exceptional circumstances that might allow for faster than light travel, and possibly time travel. It's just a matter of means and technology.

While written poorly I actually agree with captgalectro that where we came from shouldn't really be such a concern. Though it's not really a hugely funded scientific thing, mainly scientists postulate because there's no way to test yet. Occasionally things are found that can test certain theories and we do that cause why not. But no, you are not the only one left alive who doesn't really care how it all began captgalectro. I find some ideas interesting, but feel it's not really knowledge that will impact the future greatly.

However, you really make me want to be a "bigbanger". Ah I can imagine the looks on people's faces when I describe myself as such.

I'm not a non believer, I believe in the possibility of anything. I just don't let the actuality of something be determined by a 3rd party.
