5) 2a^2 - 2ab = a^2 + ab - 2ab
6) 2a^2 - 2ab = a^2 - ab
7) 2(a^2 - ab) = a^2 - ab
8) 2(a^2 - ab)/(a^2 - ab)=(a^2-ab)/(a^2-ab)

a^2 - ab = 0. You can't divide by 0 silly.

What kind of classes should I avoid to skip this?

Algebra Big Grin

I hope that the world turns, and things get better. But what I hope most of all is that you understand what I mean when I tell you that, even though I do not know you, and even though I may never meet you, laugh with you, cry with you, or kiss you, I love you. With all my heart, I love you. - V for Vendetta

I took algebra in high school. I don't remember this.

Does this look more familiar?

1) Let a = b.
2) a² = ab
3) a² + a² = a² + ab
4) 2a² = a² + ab
5) 2a² - 2ab = a² + ab - 2ab
6) 2a² - 2ab = a² - ab
7) 2(a² - ab) = a² - ab
8) 2(a² - ab) / (a² - ab) = (a²-ab)/(a²-ab)
9) 2 = 1 QED

RE: Fun with Math
What is sad thought that I met people who said that math is unreliable because people proved that 1 = 2 by diving by zero or getting square roots out of numbers.
Talk about drawing fast conclusions.

Well, yea...
You know I felt stupid enough already, you didn't have to make it worse! Lol. There's no way I am going to avoid this is there?
You guys are going to help me with this stuff when I get back in school right?

RE: Fun with Math
I do math in my head to go to sleep when my brain won't shut up.

1+1=2. 2+2=4. 4+4=8. 8+8=16. 16+16=32. 32+32=64. 64+64=128. 128+128=256. 256+256=zzzzzzzzz

Don't go feeling stupid. The original notation is common among programming languages so there is no reason you should have known it. Thumbsup

We have helped others with their maths, so just ask.
