GRITS!!! (Hughsie tried them for the first time)
Hughsie just tried grits for the first time on Skype and he's very undecided about the taste. A part of him was like "What the fuck is this?" and another part of him was like "This is quite nice."

Any fans of grits, or people that find them absolutely appalling?

It's hard to describe. It's really weird. Part of me liked it and part didn't (if that makes any sense at all).

Did you put anything in them? I make mine with ham and cheese. Friggin' delish. Thumbsup

You can also go the sweet route and add brown sugar or honey. Just plain grits might be a bit boring.

But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

I really hated grits as a kid. But recently I tried them again and I love them Drooling

They're hard to describe.
texture-wise... Like couscous and oatmeal had a baby? idk.

flavor-wise... like ricey pasta? It takes on the flavor you give it a bit, usually butter/salt/pepper.

on a side note: GRITS: Girls Raised In The South!

my least favorite acronym Dodgy

I just had a pack of instant grits made with butter. I didn't add anything else. They were kinda salty.

Yeah. I usually buy a package of cubed ham, put a little oil in a frying pan and singe them up a bit, mix them in with the grits with some shredded cheddar. Be sure to add the butter and some milk to smooth it out. Goes great with your other breakfast standards, bacon and eggs, hash browns, what have you......
