Ganzfeld experiment
http://mindhacks.com/2008/11/17/ganzfeld...cinations/

I wonder if anyone is willing to record himself while doing this so that he can describe what he's seeing during the experiment itself. Consider I'm going to try this once I have gathered the required materials.

I must try this!

Since I already have several digital doses from i-doser it will be an interesting experience, if it works.

I don't know how to split a ping pong ball in half, though. Any ideas are welcome.

couldn't it be that the subject just dose off and is now dreaming?

I have my doubts about that, considering that it's a very well-known experiment.

The hallucinations induced during this experiment are caused by the Ganzfeld effect.

The old eyes playing tricks on you syndrome!

I saw this effect talked about in relation to pre-historic cave drawings. Strange patterns and animals drawn in unusual ways. Things that your eyes "see" when sitting in the dark and staring at a wall for long periods.

I remember doing this as a kid and wanting to sleep with the lights on.

RE: Ganzfeld experiment
The one and only thing keeping me from trying this is that I currently don't have a ping-pong ball...

Is this kind of a "sensory deprivation" type of thing? It seems auditory sensory is cutoff too, not just visual.

RE: Ganzfeld experiment
I found a bunch of ping pong balls today, I'll try it out once I've figured out a way to split it in half.
