Comus: Greek gawd of laughter, jokes, etc

Momus: Greek gawd of satire, and mockery (maybe some other shit)

Thaleia: One of the 9 Muses. Named Muse of comedy, & poetry. I think

Oh gosh. Gotta post this!

And I found a piss-poor video of Gene being hysterical in The Producers. Laugh out load

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

Seems like I'm alone in finding him wincingly unfunny... but this probably has more to do with my dislike of Mel Brooks-ish comedy, so one can't blame Mr Wilder for the script.

But then, imo, satire is not supposed to be Laugh out load-funny; it's Dodgy Consider Sadcryface -funny

Perhaps it's to do with my first "but the book was so much better" experience (with the exception of Grandpa Joe who was just like I'd imagined) with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which until I saw the movie it had been a bedtime favourite.

But talent? That's undeniable. A great showman.

RIP.

I liked "Start the Revolution Without Me" the best, (he did with Donald Sutherland).
There are some really hilarious lines in it.

I said good day sir...

But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

I can't help but think of Gilda Radner when I hear her widower's name. Ovarian cancer is some nasty business. So is Alzheimer's.

There is only one really serious philosophical question, and that is suicide. -Camus
