"Gift of God"
So I guess Tim Berners-Lee is god?

Texts, Internet, social networks are 'gift of God' if used wisely: Pope Francis

Quote:In his message, the pope appeared to take a more conciliatory stand toward modern technology than in the past, saying "the Internet could be used to build a society which is healthy and open to sharing".

"Social networks can facilitate relationships and promote the good of society, but they can also lead to further polarization and division between individuals and groups," he said.

Modern communications were "a gift of God which involves a great responsibility," he said.

Ohmy He's denying the existence of the Data Fairies! This is heresy!

Oh well. They've come a long from burning people for wanting to read the bible in their own language.

Small steps.

Dodgy

Ironic that atheism has been gaining traction in part because of the internet, no wonder the church is slow to accept it.

Finally I can use the Internet without feeling like a sinner. God bless the pope for his progressive views Rolleyes.

I think that depends on whether that porn site have been given the papal seal of approval.

There are several videos featuring nuns on that site, so I think we are good.

I just wanted to let you know that I love you even though you aren't naked right now. Heart

Porn sites not getting seal of approval? Surely even church cruelty has it's limits.

I think that any porn sites the Catholic church would approve of would be illegal in most countries...

The way the Pope has been hobnobbing with the Iranian president and has loosened his stance on homosexuals and atheists, I have this fantasy that one day he'll be doing an interview and will just blurt out, "Fuck it all. This whole Catholic/Christianity thing is a big fucking lie. You're all being duped! Now go home and get life!" What would be the ramifications of such an act by this one infallible human being?
