God hidden in plain sight
Walking the dog today, I had an interesting thought: supposing that God really exists and is all around us. The problem is that our little human brains cannot perceive or comprehend His existence, kind of like trying to teach physics to a dog.

"IN THRUST WE TRUST"

"We were conservative Jews and that meant we obeyed God's Commandments until His rules became a royal pain in the ass."

- Joel Chastnoff, The 188th Crybaby Brigade

If that were actually true, it would mean that every religion ever to claim to have perceived or comprehended God to any significant degree was utterly wrong, since what they are claiming to have done would be impossible.

It would also mean that attempting to find, detect, or understand God in any way was an impossible task, and we should no more attempt it than we should attempt to fly to the moon by flapping our arms.

Yeah. Judaism.

Reformed Judaism, maybe.

Orthodox Judaism that really believes that the Law was literally given to Moses by God, and thus that Moses actually perceived God enough to know that the Law came from Him? No.

No. Well, sort of, but mostly no.
