God is outside space and time?
Saying that god is outside of space and time, is saying that god is not omnipresent.

You have just destroyed the idea of a god with omni qualities. Thumbsup

RE: God is outside space and time?
With no spacetime, there is no "outside". It's a meaningless string of words.
However, even though they say this, they constantly use language that is temporally dependent in reference to their gods.

RE: God is outside space and time?
"Outside" space makes no sense, since it implies space. Similarly, I wouldn't think it would make sense to describe god as a "first cause" if god is timeless. I'm not even sure if it makes sense to talk about causality without the concept of time, since causality entails a sequence of events. Tongue

The other problem is that they don't realize, or don't want to realize, that, if our understanding of TBBT is correct, the singularity would also be "outside" space time.
So any exceptions they give to their god, like cause and effect or before/after or timelessness etc, would also apply to the singularity.

And so, he's indistinguishable from non-existence.

Some people are outside their minds.

Don't let those gnomes and their illusions get you down. They're just gnomes and illusions.

RE: God is outside space and time?
First one must prove that the concept of something being outside of both space and time isn't simply nonsensical, at least in the sense that it can be claimed to "exist". I'm no cosmologist, though.

Better without God, and happier too.
