I haven't watched this Sacha Baron-Cohen's movie yet, but I will.

Well, things like this do often get blown out of proportion. This is normal for media.

I do believe we are headed towards a surveillance state and I doubt there is any way to stop it. It's just the way technology is.

So Muffs is right. This was blown out of proportion, also you do have legitimate concerns when it comes to this sort of technology and implementation of technology.

That game that's coming out - Watch Dogs kinda hit the nail on the head in terms of marketing everyone's fears. It's set in a dystopian future where there is no privacy and the elite can pry into everyone's lives at will controlling the information.

I may agree with you, but does it discount my own concern and disagreement that this will happen? II hear you saying, "lay down and assimilate, because you have no choice"

I would prefer to have a choice in the future of my own privacy.

For no matter how much I use these symbols, to describe symptoms of my existence.
You are your own emphasis.
So I say nothing.

RE: God(s) bless the U(N)SA
Just because we are headed towards a surveillance state, doesn't mean it is unstoppable or ok. I have nothing to hide but that doesn't mean I want someone else looking at what I say or think.

We still do not know what has been collected and reviewed so for you to say that its overblown is not based on facts since the government hasn't disclosed what it has done.

What we do know is:
Obama says he would be concerned too but its ok, just trust him (paraphrasing him)- link
But.....The NSA breaks the rules thousands of times a year- link
The IRS used data supplied by other agencies including the NSA and DEA and instructed their agents to disguise the method of collection- link
There are indications that Snowden's email provider was shut down by the government presumably b'c they refused to provide their encryption key (speculation but it is plausible)- link

You can choose to trust the government that its all ok, I choose not to. Our government is the biggest shithole of cronyism, self-serving, hypocritical, powerhungry, narcissists in human history.

I'm sure this post just got flagged somewhere and added to my file, and that my friends is exactly what is wrong with what is going on. So to the soulless NSA grunt categorizing this post, eat shit.

Is this really what you have in media?
