RE: Golden Rule
A typically good fast rule, but hardly perfect or all encompassing.

If someone enjoys being tickled but another person doesn't - then the Golden Rule fails universally.

Even somebody like me, who has an innate difficulty with literal meanings vs metaphor understanding that that is not the meaning of the phrase.

It is an rhetorical application of reciprocity and empathy; if you want to be respected, you give others respect. If you wish others to be kind to you, you should be so yourself to them. Anybody with a developed sense of self past early childhood (barring specific examples such as extreme neurotype aberrations a la low functioning autistics and clinical psychopaths) understands that people are different and have different desires; you can't go around tickle-assaulting people just because you like to be tickled. Like EK said, it's not a perfect rule merely a simple conceptual guideline. You don't want to be tickle-assaulted, don't do that to other people; you want to be respected, grant others some respect.

The people closely associated with the namesake of female canines are suffering from a nondescript form of lunacy.

A better rule of thumb is to treat others they way they want to be treated.

Assuming they aren't complete prats, of course.

Is that your way of saying "I feel butthurt when being criticized for being a hypocrite, and if you dont stop exposing me i will retaliate by going beyond claiming that you guys arent human to me anymore"? Consider

If so i would reply by suggesting to start with stopping to tell other people that you dont view them as people anymore.

It's a good place to start...in elementary school.

A little bit too simplistic once you start dealing with stuff like assisted suicide, abortion, war etc... adult situations...

No, because the rule implies that you don't do to others what they don't like.
