Good Book(s) on History of Christmas?
Season's greetings everyone.

I'm looking for a little holiday reading...

I thought it would be fun - for many obvious reasons - to delve into the history of Christmas.

HOWEVER, when I popped online and started searching for titles, I found it was not as easy as I suspected to confidently find titles I felt comfortable - sight unseen - to push the "go" button on purchasing...

Careful reading of the reviews, publisher information, and other details of books revealed many of them had an overly religious bent (including a religious "ax to grind" in terms of the Fox News / Kirk Cameron "War on Christmas persecution complex), or at the very least, a myopic view focused only on the Christian traditions or history...

Can anyone recommend any titles of respectable scholarship - or at least NON-bias - that contain a comprehensive history of the holiday -including pre-Christian/Pagan roots or traditions, as well as the eventual Christian adoption of Christmas?

Thanks!

I don't know about a book,

this is a pretty good documentary on the subject.
