Good reads?
I just came to the realization that the only books I have are about brewing beer and war, no science or anything otherwise. I figured it was time to add to that. I'm on Amazon.com and in my cart I have "The origin of species" and "The god delusion". Any other suggestions?

RE: Good reads?
I dunno I only read smut. Shy

I tried reading the God Delusion, I never got beyond the second chapter.

I did get further into god is not good by Hitchens

But then I went back to reading smut. Blush

But as if to knock me down, reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch, cut me into little pieces

I haven't finished a book in a long time but, I'm going to give it a college try.

I know I downloaded origin of the species for free on amazon.

I did read much of it. I also downloaded Moby Dick for free and I did read all of that. Smile hey! It wasn't smutty at all!

The God Delusion was very dry to me.

I've read that about the god delusion. The comments about it even from atheists say, that it attacks Christians and it's not really going to deconvert anyone like Dawkins is saying he hopes it will and it kind of rambles on. It seems to upset a lot of theists so, I figure I'll check it out.

I wouldn't be put off "The God Delusion" by the views above. I found it well structured, with evidence painstakingly laid out. As for Dawkins' conclusions and the strength with which he states them.....well, read it and see if you end up agreeing. Smile

Good reads?
I bought the ebook by Greta Christina. Title is something like Why Are Atheists So Angry. I'll check when I get home.

Good book, though.

The God Delusion is one of few books I've read in a long time that wasn't smut, romance, or medical.

Moms, have you read The Dominant, The Submissive, and The Training?
They were written under the screenname tarasueme.
Fuuuuuck me those were hot.

They were written before the Red Room of Pain (50 Shades). When I picked up 50 Shades to see what all the fuss was about, I was like hey, I've read this before...and it wasn't nearly as well written as tarasueme's work. Although, I am looking forward to the movie. Not looking forward to not having anyone to play with after I see it...

For a while I read fanfic because it was freeeeee.

Lately I've been more into reading D/s related blogs.

I'll poke around and see. Thumbsup

I read 50 shades wasn't impressed at all. I read they hope to get three or four movies out of it, like Twilight (it's Twilight FanFic after all). I don't see it. There's just not that much story. I was skipping pages and pages of really boring badly written sex just to return to what little story there was.

RE: Good reads?
Of course, Hawking writes good stuff. "A Brief History of Time" and "A Briefer History of Time" are both good introductions to a lot of ideas.
"The Particle at the End of the Universe" is a good one iirc.
Beyond that, I have a collection of papers by everyone from Albert Einstein to Max Planck. Can't remember the title, but it was put together and annotated by Hawking.
