RE: Grammar
Misspelling is one of my peeves, more so than grammar. If the rules of grammar aren't in flux, many are obtuse and thus some leeway ought to be given to sometime offenders.

But even with spelling, I try not to get too bent out of shape in informal discourse because:

[b]if yuo can raed tihs, you hvae a sgtrane mnid, too.

Can you raed tihs? Olny 55 plepoe out of 100 can.

RE: Grammar
Of course grammar is important. It's like math. For words, and stuff... Big Grin

And not everybody does math.

I'll be honest.

I once saw you use "peaked my curiosity" instead of "piqued my curiosity" and twitched so hard I almost induced an aneurysm in my brain.

Every time people misuse words, I die a little inside. But in the interest of being the peaceful and non-confrontational Smooshmonster that you all know and love, I avoid pointing out other people's mistakes.

Is that because you kept thinking people were asking for 96?

This works great in English but not so well in German. English has so mostly very short words but languages with a lot of very long words won't work so well for this experiment. German has monsterwords if you mix up the letters too much, it will be gibberish.

RE: Grammar
I don't mind if something on a random blog or comment in a forum isn't super grammatically proper. What bugs me though are mistakes involving homonyms. ESPECIALLY in the phrase, "YOUR stupid". If YOU'RE going to insult someone's intelligence, make sure you get the simplest of English grammar correct first.

You can blame misspellings and lack of punctuation on your smartphone or typos, but you cannot blame homonym mistakes on it. You just flat out got it wrong.
