There is a water-diversion canal in Colorado called the Grand Ditch. It doesn't seem like the words "Grand" and "Ditch" belong in the same name.

I also remember a very small town in Wyoming called Chugwater. One of the few residents told us that his car had broken down there years before, and he had been there ever since.
