Deepity
Something that sounds profound but intellectually hollow.
Usually has the following characteristics. 1. True but trivial 2. False but logically ill informed. 3. Usually a use-mention error or (UME)

Made famous by Daniel Dennett.
"Love is just a word" is a deepity.

“God is the God beyond Gods." is a deepity.

pops, most of your utterings belong on a new thread entitled, “Not Great Quotes”.
That quote was from the Baha and not my own. It isn't a deepity though. It is true and significant to those with sight to see and ears to hear not only the obvious but the hidden.

It's a bad teacher who blames his students for failing.

What?

Who else would you blame for your own shortcomings, whatever they may be?

Dude, this is a quote posting thread, not a thread for you to derail.

So, please respect that. Thanks.

Oh crap Nurse.

I could not remember this verbatim, but found easily on the net. But I agree with it and have done since reading the novel 33 years ago.

“There is something at the bottom of every new human thought, every thought of genius, or even every earnest thought that springs up in any brain, which can never be communicated to others, even if one were to write volumes about it and were explaining one's idea for thirty-five years; there's something left which cannot be induced to emerge from your brain, and remains with you forever; and with it you will die, without communicating to anyone perhaps the most important of your ideas.”
― Fyodor Dostoyevsky, The Idiot

I will call him a liar and a dog here and now.
