Thank you for the information. I'm going to see if even a mere "Newbie" such as myself has permissions to do this.

If not, try again after a week or two. Some things kick in only after you've established yourself a bit but it doesn't take long.

It already works. I used the Hebrew characters for "HaShem," meaning "the Name," since my namesake was an ardent Kabbalist. I am not, however, responsible for the single quote marks around the Hebrew. The forum software must've had its reasons for putting them there.

Another question: is there any way to insert a quote from another post into this response box? To wit: I would like to reply to the welcomes from GirlyMan and jennybee without having to make new responses. On other forums, on what this forum calls the "Thread Review" list, there is sometimes an "insert quote" option so that you can respond to multiple posts without having to craft separate responses for each one.

Of course, it's not a tragedy if there's no way to do it. It would just be easier. All forums have their pluses and minuses.

Without principled foundations and fundamental understanding of the nature of this so-called "color" business, how can we even begin to address what it could possibly mean?

The problem of color is a thorny one. It may, like everything else, end in solipsism. But blue is pleasant to me, even if my blue is your green and we're calling different colors by the same name.

May I just say, since we're speaking of custom titles, that I very much like yours: "My Own Personal Jesus." If there is one I've learned about religion, it's that everyone tailors it their own way. There are as many variations of Christ as there are Christians. Everyone, to some extent, is their own personal Jesus.

The song is very good, too. It's not as "electro" or "synth-y" as your typical Depeche Mode. I like the raunchy, plodding, sinister-sounding guitar riff.

I am curious, however, as to what the various colors of the user names denote. Mine is currently blue, thank the heavens, which is a fine color to have. I noticed some others were pink, so I thought maybe the color denoted gender—but then, I didn't remember having been asked to state my sex when I registered. (Did the forum get my gender from my browsing history?, I wondered. Certainly there are sites that use algorithms to tailor advertisements to your online interests and buying habits; it would not be difficult to determine a visitor's gender using a similar algorithm. The movie Ex Machina even surmised that in the future, the looks of one's android companion might be tailored to an aggregate physiology based on a person's online porn viewing). But then there were some other users with their names colored green; perhaps these were intersex, though that doesn't seem likely. And then I noticed there was one gentleman whose name bore the colors of the rainbow; could this be the option for the so-called "gender-fluid"? (Yikes!) So now it's a mystery.

Anyway, I apologize for what may seem like a trivial inquiry, but color is important to me. I am quite content with blue and I hope it doesn't change. And I would certainly want to know how to avoid accruing the garish rainbow scheme.

Thank you for any answers you can provide. ¡Y vivan los ateístas!

When you click 'reply' it quotes the post you are replying to. Next to 'Reply' is a button with no text label and if you hover the mouse over it the label is 'Quote this post'. Click that and it will change color. Do the same on every post you want to reply to at the same time and then either 'Reply' on the last one or use 'New reply' and it will quote all the flagged posts. Is that what you are looking for?

Welcome to TTA.

Thank you for the welcome! I am fairly broke, so considering the size of my bank account, I really do have nothing to worry about.

Have you checked in with the Nigerian Prince, yet?
