Guns!
So the few of us on this forum who aren't hostile to the idea of owning firearms can discuss them and show off what we have. Wink

That on the left is a CMP Field Grade M1 Garand, actual USGI issue. I believe that one was in Korea. For those who don't know, the Garand is an 8 round semiautomatic rifle firing the .30-06 cartridge (about 1.6x as powerful as modern 5.56x45mm used in the M16). It was used in WWII, Korea, and the early days of Vietnam and is considered one of the greatest rifle designs of all time. It was also sold to and used by many American allies up until around 1990. The modified, updated version, the M14, continues to serve with the US military today. It's a fantastic rifle and one of my favorites. Wink

The gun on the right is an Italian reproduction Enfield Musketoon, as used during the US Civil War. Fires a .58 Minie ball, percussion cap. It's shorter than the standard infantry rifle of the day by about a foot, and has two barrel bands instead of three.

That's a Kimber Model 82 .22LR competition rifle, manufactured for the US armed forces for rimfire target competition, between the Army, Marines, Navy, etc. They also sold them to civilians. This one was a US military one, but was never issued or used in competition. In fact, we don't think this gun has been fired since it left the factory. We're going to go out and shoot it for the first time this Sunday.

Ammmoooooo.....

~30% .30-06
~25% 7.62x54R
~10% .22LR

And the rest is 7.62x51, 7.62x39, 7.92x65, 6.5x55, 7.5x55, .303, 9x18, 9x19, .45ACP, 7.62x25, .577/450, loose powder, primers, and a whole bunch more. We've also got about 60lbs of scrap and bar lead lying around for bullet casting.

E 2 = (mc 2)2 + (pc )2
614C → 714N + e + ̅νe
2 K(s) + 2 H2O(l) → 2 KOH(aq) + H2 (g) + 196 kJ/mol
It works, bitches.

RE: Guns!
I'm retarded when it comes to posting pics, but out of my 4 guns, the one that no longer works is my favorite. My grandfather brought back with him a Japanese Imperial Infantryman's Rifle. I heard on the History channel why they did it, but can't remember. But you can tell because where they machine pressed, or carved, or whatever, the Imperial Stamp is now just a rounded scratch our people scraped out.

RE: Guns!
I have few pictures of my guns (I don't feel the need to document my arsenal), but this'll work:

Tactical light included. It's a must for home-defense.

Don't really care for that one, though. It failed me once when I needed it most. It's pretty much for target-play now.

Belonged to my grandfather.

Also my grandfather's.

I had an M1 Garand (guess who I got it from?) but I ended up selling it. I just didn't care for it. Too bulky.

Through profound pain comes profound knowledge.

Hey, I take back what I said about you on the Dying thread, I was only kidding Sadcryface

I don't own any guns myself but I'm a big supporter of gun rights and my brother says he owns enough guns for both of us.

Liking this thread.

Hehehe, I bet you liked having the musketoon instead of having to carry one of the full-length Enfields or Springfields around, eh? Lot easier. Tongue

I don't own any of the guns either, they're my dad's. He has over a hundred rifles and a couple dozen hand guns. More than enough for the whole county, we say sometimes. Tongue But yeah, I haven't had the time or cash on hand to get into the hobby. One of his CZ-82s was promised to me, but after his divorce he gave it to his ex as a bargaining chip.

But yeah, now I'm back in Maryland I'm looking at getting back into the hobby. Smile

We're actually moving to West Virginia soon due to this bill...

I would prefer to have my Maglite instead, and use that arm as a brace. That way I have a club if needed, as well. After all, there's no guarantee you'll be able to get a clean shot before an intruder closes.
