RE: Happy Easter?
I landed in Karachi today. A place not known for its celebration of christianisms.
In the hotel lobby they've tipped a nod to the festival ... the pagan festival of fertility etc. ... with a small display in the lobby. There is a 3ft x 4ft picket fence thingy, maybe 2ft high. Inside: straw and brightly coloured eggs. And 4 bunnies. 4 actual real life, real cute, baby bunnies. Awwww! So here is a question for the forum's antipodeans ... What's the equivalent of the pagan festival of easter in the southern hemisphere? Or putting it another way: should christmas and easter be reversed to match the inverse equinoxes / solstices? And if so, what about where I live, on the equator? Does the lack of a winter and a spring lead to an inevitable permanent hedonism? ![]() |

RE: Happy Easter?
I wished the Wal-Mart checkout guy a Happy Easter after he did to me.
Need to think of a witty signature. |

RE: Happy Easter?
One of the few good things religion has done, is to provide the people with occasional days off.

"If we are honest—and scientists have to be—we must admit that religion is a jumble of false assertions, with no basis in reality. The very idea of God is a product of the human imagination." - Paul Dirac |
