Happy Mardi Gras!
From your resident theist Cajun.

Unlike the rest of my state, I'm at work today. This is actually the first time in my life that I'm not off for Mardi Gras. Even when I was in Texas we got off Lundi Gras and Mardi Gras.

This has to do with easter somehow right? Not being from Louisiana I never understood the why on this party. It looks like fun though.

RE: Happy Mardi Gras!
It's the last day before Lent. Lent is where you say you're sorry for everything and give something up for 40 days. It's basically a day to go all out with your sinful ways. It's a Catholic thing. *shrug*

Never paid much attention to it, really. It's just always been a part of our culture here in LA.

Not too many places in South LA that don't take off for Mardi Gras.

Yep.

It's weird being at work today. First time in 31 years.

I forgot it was Fat Tuesday, today. Ever since I stopped believing in God, I stopped worrying about Lent, and consequently, Mardi Gras. It is a relief to no longer debate on what I want to give up for 46 days.

RE: Happy Mardi Gras!
Ha, I lived in New Caney,Tx. for a few years during boom town days.

Mardi Gras uh? I always wanted to ride my chopper out there for it and pick up a hooker, then go tripping at the old graveyard.... allas, it wasnt meant to be Sadcryface

Maybe a good thing, as I might have been shot by some toothless rednecks. Wink

If bullshit were music some people would be a brass band.
